Dia desses, passando por um aeroporto, fiquei observando as prateleiras de uma livraria e me deparei com um título que me chamou a atenção: “DNA Empresarial”, da autora Ligia Fascione.
Eu, que já sou fã da autora, rapidamente tratei de adquirir um exemplar e comecei a “degustá-lo” despretensiosamente. Foi aí que me deparei com uma interessante reflexão, sobre a Identidade Corporativa e que aqui quero compartilhar com todos.
Muito se fala acerca da construção de marcas e muitos autores defendem que para se construir a identidade corporativa, as marcas precisam estar em consonância com o que o mercado quer, não só em termos de produtos ou serviços, mas também, em termos de marca, e é aqui que começa um ponto de divergência, e que eu “reles mortal” chamo de “um equívoco”, pelo ao menos em parte.
Ao se abrir uma empresa, todos passam pela etapa da definição do posicionamento de mercado, começa-se a desenhar a “oferta” dos produtos e serviços, como serão seus processos, procedimentos, condutas e administração do negócio. Ainda que de forma “amadora, inexperiente ou inconsciente”, todo empreendedor passa por isso.
Neste momento, alguns valores e comportamentos, são empregados para determinar como a empresa irá se posicionar frente a estes aspectos, e frequentemente, tomamos como juízo de valor a nossa própria maneira de ser, pensar e agir e acabamos fazendo aquilo que acreditamos ser certo, e com base em nossos próprios valores, desenhamos a oferta de nosso empreendimento.
Então, podemos concluir que de maneira geral, se uma pessoa tem “bom caráter”, ele possui valores que o impedirão de oferecer produtos enganosos, de qualidade inferior ao prometido, entre outros aspectos, porque seus valores reforçam qual é o caminho que ela quer que sua empresa siga. Mas… e se um empresário possui caráter duvidoso? Ele produziria produtos e serviços visando tão somente os lucros, faria propostas de valor que não viria a cumprir, e usaria de todos os artifícios para se dar bem em detrimento das perdas alheias? Em “tese” seria assim, não é mesmo? Você conhece alguma história parecida? Então podemos entender que a empresa é aquilo que você é? Pelo ao menos em parte sim.
Só que esta empresa cresce, entram novos sócios, e “a coisa” toma outras dimensões. Outros valores são incorporados e as coisas mudam um pouco, mas a ESSÊNCIA da marca, não deveria mudar, porque não dá para fingir ser moderno, quando se é tradicional, não dá para fingir ser inovador, quando se é conversador, não dá para fingir ser responsável, quando pouco se importa com o dinheiro alheio, não dá para fingir ser preocupado com as questões ambientais, quando não se tem convicção disso. Pelo ao menos, não o tempo todo! Então, como diz Fascione: “um dia as máscaras caem”.
Não dá então, para pensar em “construir marcas institucionais”, fundamentando sua ESSÊNCIA, em algo falso, e é neste ponto, que muitos profissionais de marketing erram. É neste momento, que frases do tipo: “temos que ser o que o mercado quer”, são utilizados para convencer empresários a mudar sua identidade corporativa, e isso, ao longo do tempo, vira um “engodo”. As pessoas se sentem enganadas e centenas de milhares de clientes são perdidos todos os anos, por conta disso.
Identidade é algo muito maior e sólido, e muitas empresas ao fazer mudanças acentuadas na sua identidade tentam dizer ao mercado que branco é preto e preto é branco, mas o “tal mercado” não é bobo não! Máscaras caem, porque são muitos pontos de contato que o mercado tem com uma marca, e gerenciá-los na base do “faz de conta” é receita certa para problemas no futuro. A história que uma marca conta precisa ser validada por sua conduta!
Ouvi certa vez de um professor, uma frase que utilizo até hoje em minhas aulas nos cursos de MBA e na graduação, e acredito nela e defendo esta visão: “Não é o público que escolhe uma marca, é a marca que escolhe o público”.
Hoje vivemos em um mercado repleto de nichos, com gostos e preferências distintas, e, se mantivermos a ESSÊNCIA DA MARCA, certamente encontraremos um nicho que esteja em consonância com ela.
